Quilters & Crafters
for Missions

Quilters & Crafters for Missions consists of a group of women within the congregation who join together in the church annex every Thursday between 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.  The church annex is the house located at the left of the church entrance on Second Avenue.  They share in a fun fellowship while using their hands (and their hearts) to create items for those in need, as well as, for the next craft sale.  Money from craft sales go to support various missions.

You Are Invited

If you are interested in being a part of this lovely and lively group, please feel free to stop by the church annex on a Thursday afternoon. This is a fantastic opportunity for creative ladies to share their gifts, some snacks, stories and laughs all while making beautiful items for various groups we support.

Giving Back

In December 2017, Quilters & Crafters donated $100.00 to each of sixteen organizations.  In addition, $803 was raised during our March 26, 2017 coffee hour and spring craft sale.  All proceeds from that event were presented to Zion’s youth group.

Quilters & Crafters also support organizations by donating their hand-made items to those in need.  Over 100 knit, crochet or loomed hats have been made and donated to charities, such as Covenant House, the homeless, and newborns in local hospitals.  Prayer shawls are made and distributed through Zion’s Homebound Ministry.  Baby blankets are given to Families Matter for newly baptized infants. Fleece blankets and knit and loomed hats were made for Phil’s Friends.

Each year during our annual church picnic we have lots of items available for purchase. It is never too early to start shopping for loved ones for the holidays.

WHAT'S GOING ON?

We are currently busy making:

Warm & Cozy: Fleece Scarves and hats that will be distributed next winter.

Loomed Hats: We will use these for distribution next winter. This is a great craft option if you do not know how to knit. With this method you can easily make a beautiful hat for someone to enjoy.

Prayer shawls: These are a wonderful blessing to our Homebound members and others that cannot make it to Church regularily or are struggling. You do not have to be a member to receive a prayer shawl. Just let us know though the church office at 201-664-1325.

Greeting Cards: Birthday, Thank You, Get Well, Thinking of You, Sympathy

Holiday Cards: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas

We are looking at possible dates for our next craft sale. We have two big yearly sales at our outdoor church picnic (weather providing) and the Men's Club Pot Roast Dinner. This is held on election night in the undercroft of our church. Please keep an eye on this page or watch the church bulletin for details of our next sale.

Thank you to all who support our work to reach out and help others.
